My dad was in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a mechanic so he never had to hurt anyone. During his stay in Vietnam he met a beautiful Vietnamese girl and later married her. Within a year I came into the picture. When the American troops were leaving Vietnam my dad brought my mother and her family and literally rescued them from a war torn Vietnam. My mother and family are forever greatful for what he has done for us. My dad always made sure we were taken care of even if he had to work overseas to provide a better living for us. He landed a job as a material specialist and helped build power plants to supply electricity to developing cities and countries. When he had time out of work he would take us on trips to different countries that many people only read about. During the Kuwait war my dad was in charge of difusing the fires from the oil spills. He was shot at but was never hit. He's a big man but boy did he hit the ground for cover when he heard bullets fly. In time the pollution in the air affected his health. He had worked all his life and believes in working hard to provide a better life for us. He now has colon, liver and bone marrow cancer and just about all of his entire savings is wasted on medical bills. I'm not in the financial position to give him my paycheck since I am just making enough to live. My dad means a lot to me and I wish I could do so much more. The doctor said he has one year to live. In his weak condition, he can't get out much. I believe that he can live longer with the right treatment. I am trying to raise money to help my father. The only one I have. There is so much I need to catch up on with him. If you know of someone with cancer than you understand what I am going through as well as the rest of our family. During his younger years, he would be very generous financially to his side of the family since he made the most income. I need your help. Please make a difference over the holidays in helping my father. The only one I have. Thank you and happy holidays.
